How do ultrasonic cleaners work?

Ultrasonic cleaners use a high frequency sound wave to agitate and scrub clean the surface of immersed parts or tools that are placed within an ultrasonic tub.

Special cleaning liquids are used in this process for different applications and types of materials. The sound waves cause what is known as ‘’cavitation’’ of molecules.

Think of cavitation like bubbles that hit the surface of the immersed tool with enough force to dislodge any dirt or chemical that is lodged on the side of your tool or machine parts. These bubbles are often very small but move with great speed and impact.

What materials are ultrasonic cleaning machines most used for?

Ultrasonic cleaning is often used to clean dust, dirt, grease, oil and other environmental substances off of rubber, glass, metal, ceramics and hard plastics.

These cleaning machines excel in reaching hard to reach places on equipment and jewellery for instance where you often find little cracks, holes and other gaps that are difficult to clean by hand. They can even remove fingerprints off of items.

Look out for baths with an LED control panel that lets you easily adjust the temperature and set a timer. Lifting handles are another handy feature, making smaller baths portable, for easy movement when storing after use.

We have a great range of ultrasonic cleaning machines in a wide variety of sizes from 0.5L to 90L. Our larger ultrasonic cleaning baths are ideal for industrial use and suitable for continuous operation.
